About Us

Our Story

In 2005, Maureen Roadman founded Explore Solutions, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community-based organization dedicated to providing college admissions resources and guidance to students and families. From the beginning, the mission has been to make the college application process more accessible and affordable.

Maureen’s team quickly grew, with Cynthia Wilson, Daniela Ito, and Gail Durso joining to expand the organization’s services. Cynthia brought expertise in college applications, while Gail specialized in financial aid and college planning. Over the past 20 years, the Explore Solutions team has helped thousands of students successfully navigate the college admissions process.

As Explore Solutions looks to the future, Maureen Roadman and Cynthia Wilson retired and happily passed the torch beginning July 1, 2026 to Ginger Colletto who will serve as the new Executive Director of Explore Solutions.

Over the past seven years, Ginger has been the College and Career Series Coordinator at Scripps Ranch High School and a valued partner of Explore Solutions. She further expanded her expertise by earning her College Counseling Certificate through UC San Diego Extended Studies and the Western Association for College Admission Counseling. Ginger also brings a personal connection to the mission, having guided her own three children through the college application process with the support of Explore Solutions. She received the California Legislative Assembly Certificate of Recognition for her leadership in support of local schools.

Gail Durso
College Financial Resource Specialist

Gail Durso has been the College Financial Resource Specialist at Explore Solutions for the past 18 years and has helped thousands of families navigate the college preparation process. She is passionate about her work and dedicated to helping families assess their financial situation, set a budget and identify colleges and universities that are good financial fits. She has received numerous awards for her work including the National Counselor that Changes Lives, from Colleges that Change Lives and Best Supporting Counselor from the Western Admissions Counselors of California, WACAC.
