This 2-hour workshop will be an investment of time well spent.
The workshop is specific to the student’s high school academic schedule (semester, quarter, trimester). The maximum number of student participants will be 10 to ensure ample time for each student to have their specific questions answered as they complete the application.
Details
A brief presentation at the beginning of the workshop will highlight key areas that require student focus and attention to detail. Students will then create an account for the University of California and enter information into all areas of the application — except for essays. An Explore Solutions team member will be present the entire time to answer questions.
To maximize this workshop, students will need to have an unofficial transcript. Unofficial transcripts are a one-to-two-page document that includes all courses, grades, and cumulative GPAs from 9th grade to the end of 11th grade. Most unofficial transcripts can be obtained from the high school registrar’s office.
We highly recommend that students take advantage of the Activities Learning Modules for the Common Application and for the University of California Application. By crafting their activities prior to the workshop, students can copy and paste their hard work into the application during the two-hour workshop. This will save time and leave students with only the essay portion of the application to complete!
