College Planning Kickoff
This 60-minute virtual meeting is the perfect first step in preparing for college. You’ll receive an overview of the college planning process including college costs and financial aid, timelines, and meet the Explore Solutions team. We’ll introduce the services, resources, and support available to help your family navigate college admissions with confidence.
Families are encouraged to attend together, including the high school junior or senior and at least one parent or guardian. Participation is limited to 10 families.
Cost: $60 per family.
Virtual Family Discussions
Have questions about the college admissions process? Our 45-minute Virtual Family Discussions provide personalized, one-on-one meetings tailored to your student’s unique goals and where they are in the college journey.
These sessions are designed for students and at least one parent or guardian, because college planning is a family process. Meet with us as often as you need to discuss topics such as:
- College planning timelines
- Building a college list
- High school course selection
- Standardized testing
- Extracurricular activities
- College costs and financial aid
- Essay brainstorming
- Or any questions specific to your student
Cost: $125 per 45-minute session

College Knowledge Group Discussions
Gather up to 10 parents for a personalized, in person 60-minute college planning discussion at your home or other meeting location. Available for San Diego County residents. Perfect for a Mom’s Night, volunteer meeting, or any parent group.
Choose the topics most relevant to your needs, including college fit, admissions timelines, paying for college, high school course planning, merit scholarships, and more.
Cost: $300 per 60-minute session (up to 10 participants)
Application Workshops
Complete the Common Application and/or UC Application through our application workshops. Our 2-hour online virtual application workshops are tailored for students on the quarter/semester academic calendar. Private application workshops are available for those who want to meet individually or are on a trimester calendar.
Each session offers:
- A brief presentation with key tips for completing the application
- Guided time to create an account and fill out the application
- Real-time support available throughout the entire session
Come prepared with a completed activities resume and complete 80% of the application (excluding essays)
Cost for this workshop is $125 per person. Each workshop is limited to no more than 10 students to ensure personal guidance and support.
Cost for a private application workshop is $175
Crafting the Activities Section Module
The Activities section in the Common Application and the University of California application offers an opportunity for students to share their talents, skills, and extracurricular activities with colleges. Although it may not seem like much at first glance, colleges use this section to determine an applicant’s interests, accomplishments, and even how well they will fit in with the student community. These modules will walk you through drafting strong and compelling Activities sections to better stand out.
